We are happy that you are considering attending the Home for Health Lifestyle Center. The center is homelike being a large lodge in a beautiful setting where you will be able to feel at home, meet new lifelong friends, draw closer to God, and have a healing peaceful enviroment. You will feel the God's presence the moment you walk through our doors.
We know that this experience will be a memorable one for you as you explore and apply the principles of a healthy lifestyle together with us. We are a Christian ministry and teach health from a Biblical perspective. Our focus is not just diet. We look at the three fold aspects of man- body, mind and spirit. When any of these is not balanced then being truly healthy is a pipedream. There is hope as this is God's will for you as well. Consider 1 Thessalonians 5:23 & 24, "the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." This verse identifies that it is not only His will but He will also empower you to make this a reality.
As for diet in Genesis 1:29 "God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." So we are attempting to live in harmony with God's ideal before sin entered this world. This does not mean we believe it is sin to eat flesh or that we are trying to impose a plant based diet on anyone but rather to make as many positive changes in diet without making it feel overwhelming or legalistic. Healthing living should be a joy. We also will help you to avoid pitfalls that many vegetarians fall into because their diet may lack certain key elements that are necassary to being Truly Alive! The meals prepared at Home for Health Lifestyle Center will include nutrient dense fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds, and grains prepared in the most attractive way. Even guests that have come in doubt about whether they would enjoy a vegetarian diet have come away with greater appreciation and have been surprised how tasty the meals are. Also, as part of this diet, we will be preparing freshly extracted juices, Superfoods and herbs catered to your specific needs.
Located on over 400 acres in the beautiful wooded hills of Kentucky, only a few miles from the breath-taking Red River Gorge and the Natural Bridge State park, the Lifestyle Center offers the perfect environment for peaceful refreshing walks and exercise. Enjoy the hiking trails, the sunshine, the cool mountain air, the songs of birds, the quiet moments for prayer, or a lovely meal in the outdoorsplendor of natural beauty.
A typical day at Home for Health Lifestyle will consist in attending health classes on various subjects, preparing healthy meals, relaxing, drinking plenty of fresh juices, some outdoor activities (i.e., walks, hikes, picnics), and other great experiences. There is also an optional early morning devotional time. You will have free access to our library, and to our health video collection. You can also enjoy our saunas, and gym.
Guest rooms at Home for Health accommodate queen size beds (for married couples) and some accommodate two twin beds. Each room has its own bathroom. We only assign spouses, relatives or friends to the same room, when the desire so. If you wish to room with someone in particular just let us know and we will take care of it.
Home for Health Lifestyle Center is a place where all of us will be prepare juices and some meals together; it's a hands-on, interactive learning experience all week. Since we will be exercising (to fit your tolerance level), you must be ambulatory. If you choose to fly, Lexington Bluegrass Airport (LEX) is the closest airport and we can take you to and from the airport. Please make your arrival flight for the Sunday the session starts (we make airport runs after 2pm, departure flights would be made on the Friday the session ends anytime after 10am). Remember to bring appropriate clothing, walking or hiking shoes and a swimsuit for the sauna or sunbathing.
